We had a great annual meeting… During the meeting I mentioned that we have continued to reach out to William Walker Elementary School, and now McKinley has also begun to ask for our help. I am so grateful that we have a congregation that loves to serve our community, and especially those in need in these financially stressed times. It is a blessing to serve God with all of you.

I wanted to let you know of some specific needs that we have at William Walker this fall so that you can become involved…
o The afterschool homework club is starting up this month and we need volunteers
to help children with their homework Tues, Wed or Thurs afternoons 3:20-5:00 pm.
o Volunteers are needed to help with sewing projects.
o Donations to buy gift cards from Winco and Target and bus passes for needy
families in the school.
o We need some who like to cook to be willing to bake for staff days and or be
available if necessary for special projects.
o Volunteers to be a “buddy” and sit with a lonely child during lunch time.

Many of you have figured out a way that your business or talents can contribute to the school. One of our congregation works for a local business that makes clothing and continually donates shirts and coats, etc. for the kids. How can your business get in on the cause? Think about how you and your family and business can reach out to our neighbors.

Remember Jesus words, “Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38)

I’m looking forward to hearing how God is blessing each of you as you give sacrificially to those in need. Let me know how you can help and I’ll direct your email to the leaders in charge. Thanks so much.
Pastor Ron
