Getting To Know Us: Todd & Marshall Frimoth

Father and son, Todd and Marshall Frimoth, serve in our praise band on the acoustic and electric guitars, among other instruments!

Something about you we don’t already know: Marshall- built a cardboard house with the mailman from Mister Rogers Neighborhood, Mr. McFeely
Todd- Been a part of Sunset church for 35 years when my dad was pastor from 1970-79. I remember hiking in the woods where the sanctuary now stands on the old campus

A place you want to visit in your lifetime: Marshall – Egypt
Todd – The carpet cities of Iran (Isphahan, Tabriz, Qum, Nain) when things settle down, of course.

Favorite song today: Marshall – A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall – Bob Dylan
Todd – Everywhere Dance – Bruce Cockburn

Tell us about how you ended up on the platform at Sunset? Both of us started playing together in worship when attended a small church while living in Europe. When we moved back to Portland and Sunset Church, we decided to introduce ourselves and audition with this new, hip worship leader named Jay, and then he started scheduling us to play. We’ve loved playing together ever since.

Great picture of the two of you!

Todd, you were gracious as well as skilled, when you committed to teaching our sons Josh and Michael guitar. You did that on top of your already busy schedule.

I remember the first time I met you as a grade school teacher. Your classroom was SO inviting! You brought in a couch, guitars, carpet, end tables and lamps to successfully make it feel inviting.

Marshall, you have served in almost every ministry at S.P.C., as a musician. Your gift of service, self discipline and wonderful demeanor are exemplary!

Oh, and I can't wait to see you in the up-coming @dcgroth film!
