From Jay
Destroy It
Today I sat down to spend some time with God and the second I went to begin talking with Him He stopped me and reminded me of something in my life I had not taken care of that was in the way of my connection with Him. I quickly thought “Well, I agree, but I will take care of that later.” To which His Spirit said to mine, “No, now.”
One of my favorite stories in the Old Testament is the story of King Josiah in 2 Chronicles. This kid was EIGHT years old when he became king of Judah.
You read that when he was still young he began to seek God, and then in the twelfth year of his reign, he began to purify Judah and Jerusalem. He did this by systematically destroying all the idols that existed throughout his kingdom. He looked around at all that was under his responsibility, and through the Spirit guiding his conscience, he sought out everything that would get in the way of his and his people’s connection with God, and he destroyed it. Imagine the pushback, imagine the anger, imagine the businesses he destroyed, and imagine the spiritual warfare he encountered with such a bold move. But at 20 years old, he did just that.
Josiah’s faith was played out in action. And his life, as a result, was summarized as “He did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight.”
What is in your life right now, what idol is breaking your connection with God, something He is saying to you, “Destroy it, now”?

Come support and bolster the immune system of the weekend services.
Help us inoculate them with powerful prayers.
Each week, a few of us gather to pray over the weekend services. We typically meet on the night of the service rehearsal, which is generally on Thursday. We'd love to have you join us, whenever it might fit in your schedule. Come once, monthly or weekly.
What to expect: We enjoy a devotional time together first, with the whole service team, at 7pm. That lasts about a half hour. Then we break off for a time of prayer that lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. Join us?
Occasionally the day/time varies. With that in mind, contact Melinda melindalgroth@gmail.com to verify the schedule.
