Devo from Jay
When I was a child
I can still remember when each day felt like a never ending wonderful adventure. I remember when death was only something I heard about in a good story. I remember when my whole life was my friends, and when having over $20 dollars in my wallet made me feel rich, and the possibilities were endless on how I would spend it. I still vividly remember the feeling I had about life in my youth.
Somewhere along the line, responsibility threatened to become bigger than life. Somewhere along the line money became necessary for survival. Somewhere along the way people I loved began to experience real death and real pain. Somewhere along the way I was no longer a child.
The journey I’m on right now has me searching… not to revert to childhood but rather as an adult to retain the joy that God gives in this life, to nurture and feed what is right with the world in the midst of all that is also wrong. I long to keep the passion of youth, along with passion and zeal for life… for God… for others… and for living. I’m guessing I’m not alone with that but it feels good to express it anyway.
Most of you reading this are likely almost or all the way, by definition, an adult. As you deal with the routine of life, the responsibility of life and the pain of life, don’t forget the joy of life. Don’t forget the love of life. Don’t forget to revel in the gift of life. When you feel your passion welling up inside, don’t always shove it down to go to the next responsibility. Let it bubble up now and then, and spill over. Don’t forget what it was like to be a child.
John 10:7-10 ESV
7So Jesus again said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

WCA All Ministry Training Day
Sunday, March 14th, 12:30pm
We’d like to THANK and INSPIRE and TRAIN YOU so we are excited to be offering all of these in one afternoon, Sunday March 14th. Please plan to stay after the eleventh hour for a time with our entire Worship & Creative Arts serving team. We’ll be together from 12:30 to 4:45 with lunch provided. Sorry, we were not able to arrange for childcare.
As Jay mentioned previously, “My goal would be that a couple hundred of us would be there. From our ushers to our choir to our orchestra to our vocalists to our prayer warriors to our band to our communion serving team to our tech... we are all on one team and the goal is to be all together on this day.”
Please RSVP (however this is not required to attend) to carriepeeples@sunsetpres.org so we can appropriately estimate food quantities.
We look forward to being with you on the 14th!

Come support and bolster the immune system of the weekend services.
Help us inoculate them with powerful prayers.
Each week, a few of us gather to pray over the weekend services. We typically meet on the night of the service rehearsal, which is generally on Thursday. We'd love to have you join us, whenever it might fit in your schedule. Come once, monthly or weekly.
What to expect: We enjoy a devotional time together first, with the whole service team, at 7pm. That lasts about a half hour. Then we break off for a time of prayer that lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. Join us?
Occasionally the day/time varies. With that in mind, contact Melinda melindalgroth@gmail.com to verify the schedule.

This is a large undertaking! Therefore, we encourage families, care groups, and friends to sign-up to serve together. With projects ranging from helping individual families in need to cleaning up graffiti in the community, from prepping a community garden site to working in the kitchen providing meals for all the volunteers, there is a place for all people to serve the community. All the projects are in conjunction with a community group or a Sunset Ministry.
Sign up online or in the lobby on Sundays.
