Love is on the move
I am getting really excited for Easter at Sunset. When people leave that day, our prayer is that they leave with a deeper revelation of how Christ views them, of how much He loves them, and how that love changes everything. Ron will be sharing from the story of the prodigal son, and also touch on the difference between the two brothers in that story. One of the moments in the service will be when Bob Thomas sings an amazing song called Love Is On The Move.
Two brothers that made an impact on my life were two of my former bosses when I worked construction. Their names were Joe and Ray Rask. I was the grunt man for a plastering company, and it was my job to make sure the crew had their scaffold set up, their mud made when they needed it, their tools cleaned, etc., etc. It was the hardest physical job of my life. I would often go home so sore and tired all I could do was eat, get cleaned up, and sleep for the next morning which usually had me up at 4:30am.
Sometimes Joe was my foreman, and sometimes it was Ray. My work didn’t change regardless of who was in charge, but boy did the environment. I would describe Joe in general as unloving and uncaring. Ray seemed to love what he did and genuinely seemed to care about others. Each man’s “style” had a profound effect on the mood of the crew, including me. When Joe was leading, I found myself dreading the alarm clock in the morning. When it was Ray, I found myself eager to come, do a good job, and make him proud that I was working for him.
Are we aware of the environment we put out? Have our own issues and wounds (which we all carry) choked out the love that people need from us? Do you need to be reminded of how deeply you are loved, and how that love is constantly on the move, seeking you out? I know I need it, all the time. Everyone can run into the arms of God. Love is on the move. Hope to see you at Easter.
If you have a story about how someone’s loving environment affected you from your family or school or anywhere, I would love to hear about it! jaymckenney@sunsetpres.org
Easter Events
Christ In The Passover
March 23, 7 pm, Student Center
Join us in celebrating the ancient Festival of Redemption and Christ as the Lamb of God. In this
visual demonstration, you'll get to see a table set with traditional Passover items. Using Scripture, you'll
walk through a Jewish Passover seder, weaving the story of the Exodus together with the life, death and resurrection of Christ.
The Way To The Cross - The Experience
April 1, 10 am - 9 pm, April 2 11-8pm
Meditating on the events of Jesus' final days and His resurrection can be profound. The challenge for
most of us is shutting out the noise and distractions of everyday life long enough to quiet our souls and
listen to the Spirit of God. So we invite you to join us for an interactive meditation on the “Way to the Cross” in stations. Plan 30-40 minutes to complete the experience. We pray that the "Way to the Cross" experience will take you through the sorrows and despair of Holy Week so that we, too, might emerge victorious in the glory of the Resurrection.
Pillar Candles
We’re looking for donations of pillar candles for The Experience, which can be dropped by the church office or left at the book & tape counter on Sundays, please mark that they are for “The Experience, attn Carrie Peeples”. Thank You!
If you are available to volunteer either of these days, please email to: janetfraser@sunsetpres.org.

Come support and bolster the immune system of the weekend services
Help us inoculate them with powerful prayers.
Each week, a few of us gather to pray over the weekend services. We typically meet on the night of the service rehearsal, which is generally on Thursday. We'd love to have you join us, whenever it might fit in your schedule. Come once, monthly or weekly.
What to expect: We enjoy a devotional time together first, with the whole service team, at 7pm. That lasts about a half hour. Then we break off for a time of prayer that lasts about 45 minutes to an hour. Join us?
Occasionally the day/time varies. With that in mind, contact Melinda melindalgroth@gmail.com to verify the schedule.
